Spacer because stupid IE for Windows doesn't support table width tags properly! Sigh...

This is kind of more of a photo essay than an email, hope you find it interesting. I'm really enjoying the conference, missing you all of course. Back is making things a bit difficult but I'm surviving the days - just getting very tired at night - but can't sleep of course :-D

So anyway I thought I'd kick off with the obligatory shot of my hotel room :) Yep, it's tiny - the bathroom is even smaller. I don't think the cat will ever recover...

OK, so here's what American computer geeks seem to consider an adequate breakfast... (there were about 10 tables like this)

Anticipation for the keynote is quite scary - NOBODY was late...

Reality Distortion Field in action - actually this is Steve Jobs demonstrating the new web camera Apple has just released, and the guy in the background is Phil Schiller, one of the VPs I think, video conferencing over a modem link from his home using iChat which is free!

Biggest cheer of the keynote, was when Steve announced they were giving free iSight cameras to EVERY developer at the conference! This is mine.

And that's the screen I _wish_ I owned to attach it to - a 23" LCD display. Still, it goes very nicely on my Powerbook.
This is the new G5 - next generation Mac - the case is entirely aluminium... pretty sweet. Despite having two processors and _9_ fans, it's almost silent. And it FLYS. (OK, not literally!)
The banners around the conference venue are huge:
Geeks working hard - ok, they're playing nasty violent video games...
More geeks checking their mail and surfin.

The developer resources expo...

Ah, some decent food :) Cheese and fruit and chips for the Human Interface Design Awards tonight.
.
And drinks...
The Mac OS X Product of the Year - Salling Clicker - lets you use your Sony Ericsson bluetooth-capable phone to do just about anything on your Mac...advance powerpoint presentations, turn on music when you walk into the same room as your Mac, you name it...

That's all for now!

Write back, I love to read long emails and since you've read this far I might actually find time to reply!

Cheers,
        Mike
